Angamardana

“Angamardana is a beautiful way of preparing the human mechanism for a higher possibility. Above all, it is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to gain fitness because it does not need any equipment or outside support.”

          –Sadhguru

Angamardana is a system rooted in Yoga that offers you the opportunity to invigorate the body and to reach the peak of physical and mental health. It means gaining complete mastery over the limbs, organs, and other parts of the body. This practice revitalizes the body on all levels including the muscles, blood circulation, skeletal structure, nervous system, and the basic energy system.

Designed by Sadhguru, Angamardana needs no fitness equipment. It is an intense exercise that involves only the body and floor exercises that can be practiced anywhere, even during travel.

Regular practice of Angamardana revitalizes the body in many ways:

Angamardana – Mastering Your Limbs

In Angamardana, you use your own body weight and momentum to increase the flexibility of the muscle over a period of time. It is just a twenty-five-minute process as it is being taught today by us, and in terms of health and wellbeing, it can do miracles. It is a phenomenal process and is so complete. All you need is a six-by-six space; your body is everything. So, wherever you are you can do it. It is as effective in building the body as any weight training is, and it does not create any unnecessary stress on the system. [read more]

Angamardhana – A Different Level of Strength

Angamardana builds a different level of strength. This is not about building muscles but about strengthening the ligaments. Once you strengthen them, they will keep you in good stead for a lifetime. The regular Angamardana that we teach serves this purpose perfectly well. If you want to intensify the practice, you can do it twice over. Some people may think they are fit enough to take Angamardana to the next level, but if you look more closely, you will see the bane of modern civilization is that human beings are losing their form. Still, at some point, we will introduce the next level of Angamardana, but only if people are dedicated enough to adequately prepare their system.  [read more]

Why learn from YOGA NEBULA

Our classes at Yoga Nebula are taught with great care and precision to create a conducive atmosphere for learning the subtle science of Hatha Yoga in New York City/New Jersey. Taught in an intimate group setting, classes are designed to gradually introduce students to yoga practices through verbal instruction and demonstrations. We also feature informative videos that provide intellectual insight into the processes taking place. Unlike many modern yoga studios, we avoid playing music, using mirrors or props, talking while demonstrating, or physically touching participants during the classes. Many students comment on the depth of their experience as a direct result of this inward oriented teaching format.
